Omen of the Stars VENT

Journal Entry: Thu Nov 15, 2012, 5:36 PM

Animation is really getting to me, and im getting upset, so I'm going to vent a bit about the Omen of the Stars Warriors arc, and these will be some things I haven't really seen brought up much, here goes.

First, I haven't offocially read The Last Hope yet, but I know that *SPOILERS* Brambleclaw makes Squirrelflight deputy. Now, I have nothing against Squirrelflight, I think she is very loyal, but I havn't seen anything to make her an outstanding warrior or display exceptional leadership skills. To my understanding, Brambleclaw's choice in making her deputy was puerly to show that he trusted her again and that they were going to be mates again.
No.
He could have simply said that to her instead of making his first bad choice as a leader. Dustpelt would have made an outstanding deputy. Or hey, maybe Thornclaw? OR maybe he could have given the deputy position back to the cat he stole it from, Graystripe. OR! IDEA! MAYBE LIONBLAZE!!! Lionblaze would have made a kick ass leader, don't you even try to deny it. And it wouldn't be unfair either.
So yeah, nice going Bramble/star/

Second, the whole concept of cats fading away is bullshit.
A) Because the cats who first founded the clans were still around, yet never mentioned by any cat except for a prolog when they spoke. Hmmmmm. *accusing glare*
B) Mapleshade wasn't THAT old! She was still alive when Crookedstars father was born, and she was fading really fucking quickly. If the excuse is that she was being forgotten, then this is utter bs, because at the very least, Ivypool and Tigerheart damn sure remembered her in the libing world. AND! Not to mention, that she was fading so fast, while Halfmoon was still around hundreds of maybe thousads of moons later.
Utter bull shit.

Another thing that bugged me, was that Yellowfangs character was completly forgotten. When she went off on Jayfeather how Leafpool wasn't a medecine cat anymore and how she wasn't even allowed to pretend she ever had been mentored in the medicine stuffs, thats was such UTTER hipocracy thats its ridicuilous! And then she wanted to Ruin Cinderhearts life? Really??? The one other cat who wasn't Firestar that she truely cared for? When Yellowfang was PROBABLY the one who convinced Starclan to give her another life?
BUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUULLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL Shit

Just a side note, what the fuck is Birchfall doing in the Dark Forest?
Why is he there?
He needs to leave.

Thanks.

there are things that are wrong but come on you try to write 40 something books about wild cats with a belief, i mean people are judging it a little too much! (ithinkbramblestarshouldnthavemadescquirrelflightdepcauselionblazewouldbelikealotbetter)

I never read past the 2nd series it just got so dang boring because it was the same story over and over again. Plus, the writers were getting lazy.

the only good thing that came out of The Last Hope was Firestar's death.

Squirrelflight better step down RIGHT THE FUCK NOW and give it over to Graystripe, atleast before he retires /sawb/

Why the fuck was Mapleshade in the dark forest anyway? She got kicked out and took a mate from Riverclan. But both Mudclaw and Ashfur tried to kill their clanmates. whatthefuck. Okay, yes, she was bitter and angry, but did she do anything wrong? NO. I honestly doubt she would have made crookedstar go through all of those things (Crookedstars Promise 8D) if Starclan had accepted her.

Also, I think Lionblaze was destined to become leader. but then brambleclaw had to go and fuck it up. 8D

I also feel terrible for Ivypaw/pool. First, she's practically ignored by the clan and her sister, so she goes to the dark forest. Then her sister goes and screams at her that shes an idiot, then they USE her as a spy, and they PUT HER LIFE ON THE LINE. Seriously? What kind of sister does that. WHO would let anybody do that to their sister, even if it /was/ Lionblaze and Jayfeather. THAT SHOWS HOW MUCH SHE DOESNT CARE 8D the fourth cat should have been ivypool. and dovewing should have died. the end.

i hate a lot of the main characters now. except jayjay

I don't even really read it anymore because the stupid plot and marysues irk me so much. v u v ughhhhh

i still buy the books and read them when i'm extremely bored but they are just getting worse and worse and the books don't grow with the audience [which i honestly think they should] so i thought they were amazing when i was younger but now i just think the books are full of marysue characters with shittily thought out plots.

honestly i enjoy roleplaying fan-made warriors [for instance, on www.warriorcatsrpg.com] and watching fanmade animations/amvs from when the plots actually WERE decent, but i'm somewhat over it now.

The last Hope sucked. It was rushed. I thought that Lionblaze was gonna be chosen. But no. Squirrelflight doesn't look like she's the type to be a Deputy. I still like Warriors and all. But the Last Hope was bullshit. ._.

The reincarnation thing bothers me. I believe there are a few humanists that read warriors, and think it is all utter bullshit.

Also, the book looked rushed.

It'd take more than THAT to tell Firestar he was the fourth cat. And why did it have to be Firestar? Why not Ivypool? Or at least a cat from a different Clan? ThunderClan = MarysueClan.

I started reading warriors when i was in grade 6 i think. (maybe earilier i can't really remember when i got that book in my hands)
I am now in university
The one thing about the books i had to remind my self over and over again was that it was written for grade 6 me not Uni me.
Even when their readers are around my age and have been following them since the the begining. Te Erins never grew with their audience.
Pretty much in my opinion after the first books it went down hill from there.
The writting never improved (i think it got worse at some points), and there were so many holes that i was pretty much buying them because i just wanted to finish the fucking story.

One thing everyone should keep in mind is the fact the Erins never grew with their audience. If they had the last hope would have been a very very different book.

Out of the omen of the stars i will admit the Last Hope was my favorite. And the only reason for that was because the story was finally over. Finally Firestar came back to the lime life, and everything i wanted from the first series (*SPOILER* Firestar finally killing tigerstar *END*) happened.

I've always wondered how the books would have been with only one writer. How many of the inconsistencies would have never happened or what different ones would have occurred.
Its a book, not a great book, written by three different people who have actually never sat in a room together. There was a shit tone of potential that just never made it.

Be happy that at least it is now over and we can stop wasting are money on it.
Oh hey look another Supper Edition....stupid erins making me broke *grumble grumble grumble*

Personally, I'm still pissed that Firestar didn't make Graystripe deputy again when he came back.

Also, Firestar's death made no sense.

UGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGH.

The Erins started losing my respect after the New Prophecy.

OH. MY. GOD. THANK YOU. Someone has needed to say that FOREVER! i would also like to point out that Firestar and Graystripe live like 3 times longer than everyone else. Firestar, maybe I can understand because of the whole 9 lives thing, but Graystripe? That's just WEIRD.

Actually they didn't. Firestar actually died before he could have been conaidered an Elder, so he died really early for a leader. Remember, Sandstprm and Dustpelt were older than Forestar and Graystripe and still only senior warriors. It may seem like a long time but it wasn't.

And i don't get why Mapleshade went to the Dark Forest ;3; I never actually did anything wrong. xAx She just took a RiverClan mate, then he suddenly betrayed her, she was kicked out of ThunderClan, lost her kits, and was sent to the Dark Forest ;A; And Ashfur went to StarClan after he tried to kill quite a few cats, and sort of killed Firestar. OOTS is just a terrible series, and it just starts to contradict everything, and yes, Squirrelflight didn't do anything worthy of becoming deputy, and just, BLEGH! And then yeah, why are Half Moon and the others still alive? No one remembered them except for Jayfeather, and that was because Rock showed them to him. Not to mention that in the battle, Half Moon only came out, then poof. She never came out again after that.

well if you look at Mapleshade and how she acted in the dark forest... Cause Ashfur accepted what happened after he died but Mapleshade did exactly opposite and like it says in one of the books, when cats die they find their own way to starclan or the dark forest :/

Lionblaze or Brakenfur should have been chosen, in my opinion. Graystripe and Dustpelt would have made outstanding deputies, but would they even last through all of Bramblestars' nine lives? Probably not...
There WERE so huge plot holes and such in this arc, but I guess I still enjoyed it enough to finish it.

>-< The first series made me like "OMG THIS IS LIKE SO AMAZING!"
Second series was SHIT AND BORING.
Third series was WUT HAPPENED TO THE WARRIOR CODE?
Last series is SHIT. NO WARRIOR CODE. CINDERHEART WAS A STUPID IDEA (( In my opinion )). SPOTTEDLEAF DYING, AGAIN (( Really? You are THAT cruel to kill a cat that is already DEAD? )).
And what REALLY bugs me is the "fading away" thing.
I do not think that dead cats would "fade away" It is pointless and stupid. Wouldn't cats still think of their dead mate? Or mother/father/son/daughter/sister/brother ?????AND IKR? MAPLESHADE FADES AWAY? WTF!?! WHY HASN'T CLOUDSTAR FROM SKYCLAN FADE? OR HALFMOON?

Warriors used to be so good, I remember being so impressed by the first arc. Now it's just...bleh. Like they only write the books to make money, instead of to create amazing literature for children and also make money. You said it. Complete and utter bullshit. (And I'm not sure but I think maybe because there are so many Erins it just messes all the plots up. Like wtf). I was SO mad when Spottedleaf died a second time because it's like, well...where the hell did she go? Does she go to a second starclan where she chills by herself? Like honestly are the Erins THAT SHALLOW to kill off a character that's ALREADY DEAD!? aGKHSFLGKASLG

Also it always bugged me that Cinderpelt wasn't FULLY reincarnated, it was like she was possessing cinderheart or something..so dumb .. //cries ;A; Anyone else notice how the warrior code goes to shit after a while? Cats having mates from other clans, murdering each other, etc etc. So many rebels v.v''

Gawd, there needs to be a new cat series..I feel like Warriors is so famous that they don't care what they do because they'll still have fans in the end. If a new cat story doesn't come along, I'll just write one myself >.>

I really disliked this series. It gave us too much of what we wanted. I agree with the Squirrelflight issue, LionBlaze, Graystripe, or Bumblestripe would have been better choices. I hear a rumor going around that a new series is in the progress. I'm kinda tempted to not read but in the end I most likely will cause I'd like to see how Bramblestar comes along.

BUUT since you asked, here's what he did:
He joined the Dark Forest when they were training and preparing to destory all of the Clans. He thought he was doing the right thing and that he was just being trained to be a better warrior.
***EPIC LAST HOPE SPOILERS***
Then when the battle comes, Ivypool urges him and some others that were training there what they were really planning. And Birchfall went against Dark Forest and fought beside the Clans. :l

Eh, it wasn't their brightest bit, I do agree.
I mean, it makes a little bit of sense, like those more unimportant cats would just eventually disappear because no one in the history of the world remembers they exist anymore, but a cat like Mapleshade, who is playing a huge role and a bunch of cats know her name? Foolishness at its best. >.>
